A semi-truck lost its trailer and blocked traffic on southbound Highway 99, just south of Highway 58 Monday evening.

The trailer became detached just before 6 p.m. and temporarily blocked all southbound lanes of traffic on Highway 99.

Within about 30 minutes, crews were able to move the trailer to the right-hand shoulder but traffic is still currently stopped.

The trailer was carrying carrots which spilled all over the freeway. Hazmat crews and CHP are on-scene cleaning up.

Traffic is being diverted off at Stockdale Highway. Eastbound 58 to southbound 99 is closed.
