SHAFTER, Calif. (KERO) — The city of Shafter is withdrawing its library from the Kern County Library System.
The decision was outlined in a letter submitted to the Board of Supervisors.
The library will now be operated by the city.
The Kern County Library will donate all of the books and furniture that are being used in the Shafter facility.
The change will take effect on Oct. 1st.
