Kern County Fire crews were able to keep a storage shed fire from a nearby church in Oildale on Thursday morning.
According to county fire officials, the blaze started just before 8:30 in a storage shed at a home on Oildale Drive and Washington Avenue.
Two county fire trucks showed up to battle the fire. Fire crews say the blaze continued to burn due to off-road vehicles and fuel tanks fueling the fire. City fire trucks showed up to help provide support, but were not used.
Fire crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to the First Bible Baptist Church, which was right across the alley from the home.
Nobody was hurt in the fire.
It's not known what caused the blaze.
