UPDATE: The juvenile has been identified as a 15-year-old male.

Investigators say the two victims from Shafter were driving near Panorama Drive and River Boulevard when another car pulled behind them. They believe the car continued to follow, chase or race the victim's car, which is an older silver four-door Toyota Camry.

Officials say the suspect's car opened fire on La Colina Drive near Alturas Drive and officials are still working to determine a motive.

Kern County Sheriff's Office responded to calls of a shooting in East Bakersfield early Sunday evening.

KCSO told 23ABC that a shooting on Alturas Drive left a juvenile in critical condition and another victim requiring medical attention.

Officials believe road rage was the cause of the shooting and that two cars were involved.

KCSO is investigating the scene as a homicide even though there has not been a declared death.
