There was a deadly shooting on Hughes Lane and Planz Road late Monday, July 30. Bakersfield Police reported that the shooting is a "Major Injury Shooting" with one male victim who died on the way to the hospital.

At this time there is no suspect information and the police do not know if it is gang related.

The intersection was closed down following the shooting, but is opening up shortly.
