Drive-by shooting in Wasco leaves one man dead Saturday, officials say

WASCO, Calif. — According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, one man is dead following a drive-by shooting that unfolded in Wasco Saturday night.

KCSO officials told 23ABC News that at 7:42 p.m. deputies responded to reports of shots fired in the 1800 block of Gaston Street. Officials say when deputies arrived, they located one man who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was initially transported to Kern Medical Center by a helicopter for major injuries, but officials said the man was later died at the hospital.

According to KCSO a car drove by and the persons inside fired at the victim.

Homicide detectives were called out to the scene to investigate but at this time there is no suspect information or car description.
