Shooting leaves man in critical condition in East Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man is in critical condition following a shooting in East Bakersfield Sunday afternoon.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, officers responded to a shotspotter activation near the 200 block of Wood Street at about 4:11 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man laying on the roadway, with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he is listed in critical condition, according to a BPD press release.

BPD describes the suspect as a Hispanic man in his 20's, wearing green pants, but no shirt.
