UPDATE (Oct. 6, 2016, 3:20 p.m.): The man shot on Monday evening has been identified as 22-year-old Braylen Smith.

Smith was found October 3 around 9:49 p.m and died at Kern Medical at 11:25 p.m. He was shot by an unknown suspect as were two other people.

The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating this case as a homicide and his cause of death is multiple gunshot wounds.

Bakersfield Police says a man who was shot Monday night has died.

According to BPD, the shooting was first reported at about 10 p.m. in the area of 8th and L streets and at 7th and L streets. 

Two other people suffered minor to moderate injuries. 

No arrests have been made and there is no suspect information available.
