ShotSpotter activation leads arrest for possession of firearm and narcotics

The Bakersfield Police Department responded to a Shot Spotter activation in downtown Bakersfield on Sunday morning at 3:46 a.m.

 

Rodrigo Lara, 26, was seen in a vehicle leaving the scene and was stopped by police. Lara was determined to be on felony probation.

 

Officers found a loaded .40 caliber glock 24 handgun, cocaine HCL, crystal methamphetamine, and marijuana in a compartment under the drivers seat.

 

According to officials the firearm was determined to be stolen.

 

Lara was arrested for firearm and narcotic related charges.

 

Officers were not able to determine if Lara was the shooter from the Shot Spotter activation.
