The Sikh Friends of Bakersfield organization is offering free hot meals daily through April 16 to celebrate unity.
The meals are being served in a parking lot of the south side of 19th Street, adjacent to the Mill Creek Linear Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Last year the local Sikh community operated their community kitchen for eight days. Due to their success, they are expanding it to an entire month this year.
