BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A single-engine plane made an emergency landing in East Kern County Saturday evening, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
The pilot took off from Kern Valley Airport and was expected to land at the Inyokern airport Saturday afternoon, when mechanical issues occurred.
According to KCSO, the pilot's wife called deputies about the overdue flight at about 4:30 p.m.
KCSO said that the pilot had to make an emergency landing near Bird Springs Pass to fix pressure issues with the plane's gauges.
The pilot got the plane back up in the air and was able to make a safe landing at the Inyokern airport.
