BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A 2'x2' sink hole is affecting traffic in East Bakersfield.

Around 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, BPD responded to the intersection of Columbus Street and Haley Street in East Bakersfield and located a 2'x2' sink hole. Officers blocked off several lanes of traffic.

The cause of the sink hole is under investigation. BPD says traffic in the area of the intersection will be affected for several hours. BPD also recommends commuters avoid the area until the sink hole is repaired.
