BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — While many people are looking ahead to Black Friday, local business owners are reminding the community of a new event called "Shop Small Bako."
Shoppers can come out to shop small and local businesses this 2019 holiday season.
The goal is to get consumers into the pattern of shopping small and to showcase all the small businesses right here in Bakersfield.
According to organizers, this program encourages community support for local businesses in the downtown area that is becoming "overwhelmed by the homelessness and the vandalism that is chasing the community away from our downtown attractions."
"Shop Small Bako" helps introduce the community to businesses they might have otherwise never known about.
