The California Highway Patrol and the Bakersfield Fire Department responded to a small grass fire on the South Chester on-ramp of Highway 58 East bound.

The fire started just before 8 p.m. Sunday night.

Officials are now working to put the fire out. Roads are closed at South Chester Avenue and Richland Street. 

Officials can not say when roads will re-open at this time.
