The Soberanes Fire on the coast near Monterey has burned over 121,050 acres and sits at 71% containment as of Tuesday morning.
Smoke from the fire rolled into Kern County Monday night due to a wind shift and dense fog pushing smoke from Monterey County into the area.
The fire started on July 22 due to an illegal campfire.
