As provisional ballots continue to be tallied at the Kern County Elections Department, some races are still too close to call, according to online election results.

As of the latest results posted to the Kern Co. Elections website at 6:22 p.m. on Monday, some races are just a few votes apart. In the Midway School Board Member race, Rachel Dayton and Sharyn Eveland are tied with 54 votes each. In California City, where voters will choose two new council members, the difference between Donald Parris and Rick Warren for the second place spot is only nine votes.

Meanwhile, the difference in some races is widening. At one point the race for Bakersfield Mayor was only a few votes apart, but as of Monday, Karen Goh is now up by more than 5,000 votes or nearly 53 percent of the overall tally.

Elections officials said that as of Tuesday morning, there were still 29,000 ballots (most of them are provisional) that have yet to be counted.
