BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A Papa John's restaurant was shut down by the health department on Thursday due to unsanitary conditions.
The restaurant is located at 2401 White Lane.
According to Kern County Public Health, inspectors observed a major leak from a ceiling next to a pizza oven and walk-in cooler, leading to contamination to food items inside the unit.
They also discovered an overflowing floor drain near pizza and the facility operator failed to demonstrate basic knowledge of food safety principles.
