The south range of the Naval Air Weapons Station in China Lake was put on lockdown Wednesday evening while police and civilian law enforcement searched for a possible suspect.
The Naval Air Weapons Station in China Lake released the following statement on Facebook:
“Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake police and our civilian law enforcement partners are currently in pursuit of a possible suspect on NAWS South Range. At this time South Range personnel need to follow all directions from police and emergency personnel. Remain indoors, secure all doors and windows, and follow your facility lockdown plan until you receive the all clear. This situation does not currently affect the NAWS Main Base. Additional information will be posted as received.”
