BAKERSFIELD, CA. — The City of Arvin Police Department carried the torch for the annual Special Olympics Torch Run.

This was the first time Arvin participated in the Kern County leg of the torch run.

"Being able to give back that's really important for law enforcement to be involved, we're human just like everyone else, and there's so much excitement to be here," Chief Kimble.

Kern County Special Olympic athletes, community members, and law enforcement all participated in the mile run.

The run has raised over $800 million to help send athletes to the Special Olympics.
