As a way of welcoming springtime to Bakersfield, all children (between the ages of 3-12 years) will be admitted FREE and must be accompanied by an adult during April 8-15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
During the week, CALM docents and animal keepers will be on site to give visitors an up close and personal animal encounter with four "Keeper Chats" each day. During your visit be sure to say hello to the new California Condors who reside in the Raptor Exhibit. A must-see is the new California Coast Room featuring moon jellies and an intertidal touch tank.
Guests may also conquer the Condor Challenge, CALM's 32-foot rock climbing tower for FREE!
If all that wasn't enough fun, the Central Valley Children's Railroad will be chugging along the tracks from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The train is appropriate for all ages and tickets are only $1 per person.
A food and beverage booth will be provided by Hunsaker Brothers Carnie Corn.
CALM is located only 15 minutes from downtown Bakersfield at 10500 Alfred Harrell Hwy (between Lake Ming and Hart Park).
