According to St. Augustine's in Lamont, a participant at masses held July 2-3 tested positive for COVID-19.

They are encouraging their participants to say home and contact their doctor if they feel any symptoms of COVID-19.

Virtual church masses will be held on their Facebook page.

The church plans to close for two or three weeks or until further notice.

Their official statement:

We are saddened to announce that both parishes of S.t Augustine Catholic Church, Lamont and St. Thomas Catholic Church, Arvin are closing for the next 2-3 weeks, and possibly beyond. All scheduled events (funerals, weddings, quinceaneras; baptisms; first communions; confirmations) must also be canceled. There will be no masses or lives streams of Sunday mass or adoration. We will continue to inform both communities of reopening as we get permission from the Diocese. Please pray for us and those affected with COVID 19.
Our Lady Of Guadalupe, Pray for us.
