In a statement released to parents, St. John's Lutheran School announced they were closing school beginning Monday, March 23rd and transition to distance learning beginning Tuesday, March 24th.

"We are grateful for your continued support and patience as we navigate the implications of COVID-19 in Kern County. After many hours of planning, deliberation, and consultation with St. John’s Lutheran Ministries staff, we have made the decision to close school beginning Monday, 3/23 and to transition to distance learning beginning Tuesday, 3/24. This decision is being made based on information received from the CDC, Kern County Health and Education offices, and medical professionals within the St. John’s community. We are proceeding with the transition to distance learning/mixed delivery in order to do our part to help mitigate the transmission of COVID-19 within our community."

This is a developing story. More information as it becomes available.
