Stallion Springs pigs head to sanctuary after being rescued

Several dozen potbelly pigs abandoned in the Stallion Springs area are now finding a new home.

Kern County Animal Control Services posted on its Facebook page about the relocation early Monday morning.

"This morning at 4am our dedicated staff showed up to work to once again save lives!" the post read.

Half of the pigs were loaded and driven to a pig sanctuary on Monday; the other half will be taken on Tuesday.

This development comes nearly a month after the pigs were found abandoned on a property on Buckpasser Drive in Stallion Springs.
