Standoff in South Bakersfield, KCSO and BPD investigate

UPDATE (10/21): KCSO says that 20-year-old Hassan Rogers has been arrested in connection to the standoff on Friday.

Deputies tell 23 ABC that Rogers allegedly shot at three men that were walking on Apache Avenue on Friday morning, temporarily putting nearby Munsey Elementary School on lockdown.

Deputies say they spotted Rogers' car on Friday evening and he led them on a chase. The pursuit ended at an apartment complex near Pacheco and Monitor streets, and Rogers ran from his vehicle into the area, leading to a standoff.

Rogers was later arrested and no one was hurt during the initial shooting or the standoff.

A standoff is underway in South Bakersfield on Pacheco Road and Monitor Street. 

The Kern County Sheriff Department and The Bakersfield Police department are searching for a possible suspect connected to a prior shooting. 

The call came in just before 11 p.m. when Bakersfield police chased a car to Pacheco Road and Monitor street. 

Officials say the suspect took off on foot and ran into a a near-by apartment.
