BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — CAPK Food Bank is offering a Starbucks PREP Works pre-employment program for youth ages 16 to 18.
The program will be at the Friendship House for students that live in Bakersfield and at the Shafter Youth Center for those that live in Shafter and Wasco.
The participants will receive 20 hours of pre-employment training on interview skills, creating resumes, conducting job searches and financial literacy.
Of the participants, the top 30 students will be chosen to receive 64 hours of paid work experience, contingent on being able to receive a work permit, if applicable, and having a social security and picture ID.
Interested students should attend a program orientation at either of the locations:
- Friendship House Community Center
January 24 at 5:30 p.m.
- Shafter Youth Center
January 25 at 5:30 p.m.
