Students defend DACA a day after Trump administration releases "wish list"

Posted

A group of students from Golden Valley High School marched down to South High where they met up with more students to stage a walkout in defense of DACA.

The protest comes a day after the Trump administration released a list of policy demands that they want included in any legislation addressing DACA.

Some of the things on the "wish list" were hiring 10,000 more immigration agents and starting to build a U.S.-Mexico border wall.

The organizer of the protest Marisol Sanchez from Golden Valley High got emotional during the protest when a woman drove by and gave them backlash for not holding an American flag and for not being in school. (See minute 1:22 in 23ABC's Johana Restrepo's Facebook Live).

The students said they made arrangements with teachers to make up some of the work they missed at school on Monday and that their parents supported their protest.
