Suspect arrested for attempted murder, firearm possession in Oildale

On May 14, 2017 at about 11:18 pm, Kern County Sheriff's deputies responded to the 100 block of Warren Avenue in Oildale for a report of a person armed with a firearm.

It was also reported that the subject, 38-year-old Jeffrey Vigue, had pointed the firearm at several people in the area and had placed the firearm against one victims head.

When deputies arrived they found Vigue standing near a home. Vigue ran from deputies and after a short foot pursuit he was taken into custody without incident. Vigue was in possession of a loaded handgun when he was arrested.

As a result of the investigation Vigue was arrested for attempt murder, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, brandishing a weapon, obstructing a peace officer, false imprisonment, and making terrorist threats.

His bail has been set at $655,000.
