Suspect arrested in connection to 2017 Delano killing

DELANO, Calif. — A man is scheduled to be in court Wednesday after he was arrested by Delano Police in connection to a 2017 killing.

According to the Delano Police Department at about 5:30 Monday evening Rosario Perez was taken into custody by the Kern County Sheriff's Department. Perez was wanted for his participation in a gang shooting that killed Diego Morfin on July 5th, 2017.

Perez was the last suspect who they were looking for in this crime. The first suspect in the case, Sergio Valle, was arrested last year. Valle had been apprehended near the California and Mexico border.

Perez is facing multiple charges including murder and participating in a gang. He is set to be in court on Thursday.
