California City Police arrested a suspect in connection to a stabbing that took place at a party on Friday night.
Witnesses said they saw someone get stabbed multiple times while at a desert party in an area east of Proctor Boulevard.
Party goers broke up the fight and transported the stabbing victim to the Hall's Ambulance station. The victim was airlifted to a local hospital where he remains in serious condition.
The suspect was subdued by others and was arrested. He was identified as 21 year-old Matthew Mendez of California City.
Mendez was booked into Kern County jail where he is being held with an attempted murder charge. His bail was set at $500,000.
