According to Bakersfield Police Sergeant Gary Carruesco, a foot pursuit on Sunday, December 11, ended in a citizen's arrest.

 

Around 2:30 p.m., officers were called to the Riverlakes Community Church for a suspicious person, 25-year-old Oliver Arizoca, potentially under the influence of drugs. When Arizoca was contacted by police, he resisted. Officers used a tazer on him, but it was ineffective and Arizoca ran away.

However, as Arizoca attempted to flee the scene, several citizens took him to the ground. He was then arrested by BPD.

 

No officers were injured.
