The man arrested on murder and attempted murder charges related to a shooting over the weekend in east Bakersfield appeared in court on Tuesday.
Guillermo Soto is facing six felony charges, including cruelty to a child in addition to first-degree murder.
Police said Soto, 19, opened fire near Heritage Park on Mt. Vernon and Bernard Streets on Dec. 9, killing a man and wounding a woman.
Soto pleaded not guilty on Dec. 12.
Soto will be back in court on Dec. 20. His bail is set at $2 million.
