BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Monday the suspect accused in the death of a man whose body was found in a riverbed is expected to face a judge.

Antonio Maldonado, 33, is accused of killing a 67-year-old man near Riverview Park off Chester Avenue on August 14th. According to the coroner's office, the victim died from blunt force trauma after being struck by an unknown object.

Maldonado was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

After a search of the home where he had been staying detectives were able to link him to the homicide.

Maldonado is set to be in court at 3 p.m. Monday afternoon.
