The man wanted in connection to a deadly shooting in south Bakersfield over the weekend is due in court on Thursday.
Javier Saucedo is facing first-degree murder charges.
On May 12, Bakersfield Police responded to Ginger Snap Lane and Stargaze Drive and found a man, identified as Edgar Barajas, in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound. Barajas died at the scene.
BPD says Saucedo's attorney contacted them Monday night to facilitate Saucedo's safe surrender.
On Tuesday, Saucedo went to BPD headquarters where he was taken into custody.
He is due in court on May 17 at 3 p.m.
