An SUV crashed into a canal along SB SR99 just north of Houghton Road.

The crash happened at about 3:15 p.m. and officials said an elderly man was still in the vehicle when it crashed.

Officials on scene said that the elderly man lost control of his vehicle and ended up crashing into the canal.

Two good Samaritans who were passing by saw the man and jumped and pulled him out of the vehicle to safety.
