Taft Union High School approved a contract with the Kern County Sheriff's Office for a new school resource officer.
The TUHS Board already approved the contract and and the Kern County Board of Supervisors approved it on Tuesday.
Approval by the Board was expected, since the Kern County Chief Administrative Officer had recommended approval.
TUHS has contracted with the Taft Police Department for school resources for several years but attorneys for both the City of Taft and TUHSD were unable to agree on a contract.
