Tarina Fire, east of Bakersfield currently at 2,950 acres

(UPDATE: August 5, 2018 7:00 p.m.) The Tarina fire is now 100% contained and is holding at 2,950 acres.

(UPDATE: August 5, 2018 5:37 p.m.) The Tarina fire is now 95% contained and is holding at 2,950 acres, with KCFD expecting full containment by the end of Sunday.

(UPDATE: August 5, 2018 3:09 p.m.) The Tarina fire is now 90% contained and is holding at 2,950 acres, with KCFD expecting full containment by the end of Sunday.

(UPDATE: August 4, 2018 7:45 p.m.) The Tarina fire is now 70% contained and is holding at 2,950 acres, with KCFD expecting full containment by the end of Sunday.

(UPDATE: August 4, 2018 1:50 p.m.) The Tarina Fire is now 40% contained with 2,950 acres scorched, according to Kern County Fire.

Robert Figueroa, Public Information Officer with KCFD says that 200 personnel are still responding to the blaze. Crews are making good progress on the fire line and expect to have it contained by Sunday, August 5.

At this time, there are no reported injuries or structures threatened.

(UPDATE: August 4, 2018 8:00 a.m.) According to Kern County Fire, the fire has burned 2,950 acres, and it is approximately 35% contained.

There are now more than 200 personnel responding to the blaze. At this time, there are still no reported injuries or structures threatened. 

Robert Figueroa, Public Information Officer with KCFD says they will have full containment by Sunday, August 5, 2018.

(UPDATE: August 3, 2018 9:06 p.m.) According to Cal Fire, the fire has spread to 1,600 acres with 20 percent of it contained.

Kern County Fire is reporting to a fire in the area of Breckenridge east of Tarina Court. The call came in just before 2 p.m. this afternoon. The last estimated size is 350 acres and there are currently no structures threatened according to fire officials. The cause is still undetermined and there is containment ETA as of yet. There are currently 140 personnel working the fire.

This is an ongoing situation and we will update as information comes in.
