The former junior high teacher who had sex with minors has been sentenced to a year in jail.

Vanessa Jean Hooker, a former teacher at Beardsley Junior High, was sentenced to a year in jail Wednesday morning after she pleaded no contest last month to sexual penetration with a victim under 18 and contact with a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense.
Hooker was investigated back in December by Kern County Sheriff's detectives and was found to have had sex with three of her former students.
Along with a year in jail, Hooker was sentenced to three years probation, will need to seek sex offender counseling and will have to register for the rest of her life as a sex offender.
