New details on a dangerous collision reveal one of the drivers was arrested for driving under the influence. 

On Friday morning, The California Highway Patrol responded to a report of a major accident on Weedpatch Highway just North of Hermosa.  

Police say 18 year-old Ana Rangel was driving over 50MPH when witnesses say she drove into the left lane hitting another car, head-on. 

CHP also said Rangel may have been on her cell phone when she collided with another car.

Both the driver of that car, Luis Gonzalez and his passenger Alicia Santoyo were hurt. 

All three people suffered major injuries and were taken to Kern Medical Center.
