A 17-year-old boy was seriously injured after his dirt bike crashed into a truck in Lamont Tuesday evening, according to CHP.

The teen was riding a dirt bike near the intersection of Georgetown Avenue and Field Street in Lamont around 6:15 p.m. when he was hit by a person driving a red Chevy pickup truck, according to CHP.

The teen who was hit was transported to Kern Medical with reportedly major injuries. His current condition is unknown.

The driver of the truck did stay at the scene and officials ruled out drugs or alcohol from playing a role in the crash.

The identities of the driver and the person have not yet been released.
