Bakersfield Police Department released the following statement:
On September 17, 2015, at 11:33 am, Bakersfield police officers were dispatched to the 300 block of 17th St. regarding a fight taking place between approximately eight teenagers with shots fired.
When officers arrived the teens had dispersed.
There were no reports of injuries as a result of the shooting.
A neighbor who witnessed and videotaped the incident on an electronic device shared the video with officers.
Officers determined that the many of the individuals depicted in the video were current or former students at CLC Tech School located at 300 E. Truxtun Av.
Staff at CLC Tech. told officers that there had been a peace disturbance in the parking lot of the school just prior to the shooting but school staff had made the students involved in the disturbance leave campus.
Officers identified the students, all juveniles, who were involved in the fight and subsequent shooting.
They were able to locate the three juveniles and recover the firearm used in the shooting.
The other juveniles involved in the incident were observers.
Two juveniles were arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Participation in a Criminal Street Gang and Conspiracy and the third was arrested for Fighting in Public and Participation in a Criminal Street Gang.
