The city of Tehachapi is looking to incentivize residents to support local businesses in the area.

At a meeting earlier this week the city council approved the small business loyalty program. The program would reward shoppers for spending money at locally owned businesses in the city.

To qualify you have to spend a total of $100 or more at a locally owned small business in Tehachapi. If you take the receipts to city hall you'll recieve a $20 gift card to a restaurant in the city.

According to a post on the city's Facebook page the program would begin on March 1st
