The City of Tehachapi was honored on Thursday, September 27 with an engineering award from the American Society of Civil Engineers for the Tehachapi Boulevard Bike Path Project.
According to city officials, they received the award in the category of "Outstanding Bikeways & Trailways". Development Services Director, Jay Schlosser said that the City is honored to receive the award.
"It is no surprise to me that Tehachapi is being recognized for our quality of life," Schlosser said. "Years of hard work and positive leadership from the Tehachapi City Council have allowed moments like this to be possible. Thank you to the American Society of Civil Engineers."
The bike path cost 1.1 million dollars and was completed in approximately 8 months
