Tehachapi police make drug arrest following traffic stop

TEHACHAPI, Calif. — On Wednesday, a traffic stop in Tehachapi led to the arrest of a suspect on multiple accounts involving methamphetamine.

According to a statement from the Tehachapi Police Department, an officer stopped a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Jesse Anthony Villanueva for a code violation. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Villanueva was wanted on multiple warrants, including a parole violation in connection to a robbery in Brea, California.

When officers searched Villanueva's vehicle, the found methamphetamine, and other items related to drug sales.

Authorities later searched his apartment located in the 22000 block of Copper Drive in Tehachapi and found more methamphetamine and additional items connected to drug sales. In all, officers seized approximately 80 grams of methamphetamine.

Villanueva was arrested on his outstanding warrants, as well as transportation of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for sales and possessing narcotics paraphernalia. He was booked into the Kern County Jail in Bakersfield.
