The Tehachapi Police Department responding Friday night to social media posts claiming that there have been two attempted child abductions in the past two days; saying they have investigated those claims and have determined no attempted abductions have occurred.

TPD says on October 17 they received a report that a man had tried to lure a girl to his car in the 700 block of Los Colinas Avenue. They say their investigation showed the reported incident did not happen and no crime was committed.

On October 18, TPD says they received a report of a suspicious man in the area of Dennison Road and Tehachapi Boulevard. The report stated that the man had stopped his truck and rolled his window down near where the girl who reported the incident was walking. TPD says no physical or verbal contact was made or attempted. They say after investigating, no crime was committed.
