TEHACHAPI, Calif. – On Tuesday, at approximately 10:20 pm, Tehachapi Police Officers arrived on scene in the 900 Block of Capital Hills Parkway in response to a suspicious person in a car.

Officers briefly spoke with the male suspect. Shortly after, he fled on foot and led the officers on a chase through an open field. During the pursuit, police shot the suspect.

He was transported to Kern County Medical Center and is currently being treated for two gunshot wounds.

No officers were injured during the shooting.

The shooting is under investigation.
