Bring it on El Nio

Posted

El Niño season is in full effect and today sparked the beginning of a chain of storms.

The Tehachapi valley was hit hard, rain was consistent throughout the day, causing flooding in some areas.

Cal trans said they are keeping a close eye on where the mudslides hit in October and have crews staged in that area.

With the steady rainfall many locals and even travelers prepare for the worst.

Ken Hetge and his wife have lived in Tehachapi for several years and although rainfall causes a mess for their driveway, they understand why the rain is necessary.

"You have to understand and realize that El Niño could potentially cause a lot of problems for a lot of people at the same time California needs water,” said Hetge.
