A beloved Jacobsen Middle School teacher died in an accident near Pioneer Town over the weekend.

On Friday, October 7 at 11:56 p.m., San Bernardino County deputies responded to the report of a fall victim in the area of Pioneer Town. Daena Lynette Kirk (Eberle), a Tehachapi resident, was found lying on the shale covered slope around 2:18 a.m. on October 8.

A growing memorial appeared outside for Mrs. Eberle, as she was known at school, on Monday morning.

A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. in the auditorium at Jacobsen Middle School.

If you are planning to attend you are encouraged to wear purple.
