The Tehachapi Walmart is still on target to break ground in the spring or summer of 2017.
However, Walmart must first obtain permits from Caltrans as well as the City of Tehachapi. The expectations are the permitting process will be complete in the second quarter of 2017.
Development Services Director Jay Schlosser shared that the group is involved in the permitting process at this point.
"We are fully expecting permits to be pulled in 2017, construction could begin during the spring or summer of 2017," Schlosser said.
The permitting process can take up to six to nine months between all agencies involved.
