FRESNO, Calif. — A 54-year-old Tehachapi woman was sentenced to two years in prison on Monday, February 11, for aggravated identity theft according to the Department of Justice.
According to court documents, Hazel Turner unlawfully possessed names, addresses, dates of birth, social security numbers and other personal identifying information of real people.
Officials said that Turner used the information to submit fraudulent income tax returns and attempted to defraud the government of more than $133,000.
