A lottery player in Tehachapi who misread her Lucky Streak Scratcher ticket learned she had won $5 million instead of $500,000.
Ramesh Bhambi had only been playing the California Lottery for about a year but had already won a thousand dollars several times.
She buys tickets from stores all around town.
The winning ticket was purchased at Mount Village Express on Mill Street in Tehachapi.
The business itself receives a $25,000 retailer bonus as well.
Bhambi will receive her $5 million prize in a lump sum amount of $2.9 million, less federal taxes.
